Preserving the beauty of exceptional leather requires special care. Galbert Paris's care tips guide you in the art of enhancing and protecting your creations made of exotic leather, precious textiles, or handcrafted embroidery.
Discover the essential steps to nourish, clean and preserve your creations for the long term, whether it's a jacket, a wallet or a pair of loafers.
Our expert recommendations ensure that your item retains its shine over time, so that every Galbert Paris item will look as elegant as the first day.
Cleaning
Exotic leather, whether crocodile, python, ostrich or pirarucu, never takes water, soap or household products: the scales and their finishes can be permanently damaged. At home, simply remove dust with a soft, dry microfiber cloth. For anything more, entrust the creation to an exotic leather specialist, or write to us. Do not wash, iron or dry clean it.
In the rain
If your creation gets wet, let it air dry at room temperature. Never use a hair dryer, a radiator or direct sunlight: too much heat dries the leather and makes it crack. Do not rub a water stain, it will spread.
Storage
Keep your leathers in a room between 15 and 22 °C (59 to 72 °F), at 40 to 55 % humidity, away from direct light, which fades the color. Hang a jacket on a wide wooden or padded hanger, with zips closed, in a breathable garment bag, never plastic, and give it room to avoid creases. Do not keep it folded for more than a few days. Store a bag upright, filled with acid-free tissue paper to keep its shape.
